Process Safety
We Don’t Guess Thermal Risk. We Measure It.
At Navin Fluorine, process safety is not a final checkpoint before commercialisation. It is built into development from the very first experiment. Every chemistry we work with, whether fluorination, high-pressure synthesis, or hazardous multi-step reactions, is assessed for thermal risk before it advances to the next stage. The data we generate is not just for the laboratory. It is directly scalable to plant conditions and used to inform reactor design, cooling system specification, and emergency relief sizing long before a process reaches commercial scale.
Equipment | A What We Measure | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
RSD (Rapid Screening Device) | Onset temperature, Heat of decomposition, Max temp/pressure rise rate | Quick screening, go/no-go decisions, hazard severity |
RC (Reaction Calorimeter) | Total heat generated (ΔHr), heat generation rate, reaction accumulation, gas evolution | Determines thermal load. Critical for reactor and cooling design |
ARSST (Advanced Reactive System Screening Tool) | Max temp/pressure rise rates, TMR, vent size, gas generation | Simulates worst-case runaway scenarios for relief design |
- Data directly scalable to plant
- Safety embedded from day one
- Zero process safety incidents during scale-up (last 5 years)
