R & D - Infrastructure


Navin Fluorine has been manufacturing HF for fluorination of chloroalkanes for refrigerant gases and electronic reagents, fluorination of alkali metal hydroxides, and other fluorination chemistry for over four decades.

The scientists on our R&D team have extended their knowledge and expertise to further the use of HF in the development of fluorinating agents like metal fluorides, heterocyclic adducts and aliphatic adducts, fluorinated aromatics, heterocycles and aliphatics required as intermediates for API’s and Agro molecules.

Our Research & Development facilities include infrastructure to use HF as a fluorinating agent in liquid phase fluorinations:
  • Catalytically and non catalytically
  • At subzero and elevated temperatures
  • At atmospheric and elevated pressures
Using HF as a fluorinating agent in vapor phase:
  • For aliphatics
  • For aromatics
  • For heterocyclic compounds
Development work to synthesize electronic grade HF for fluorination:
  • To provide new generation electrolytes for rechargeable batteries
  • To provide fluoroborates for pharmaceutical use
And plans for additional fluorinating agents like:
  • Fluorine gas
  • Sulfur tetrafluoride gas
  • Electrophillic agents
  • Advanced nucleophillic agents
